Judi O’Malley, Grit Alumni Female Co-Founder and CEO of Spiorad
Please tell us a little about yourself and your role as CEO and Co-Founder Spiorad Medical?
Judi’s commitment and passion for patient care began over 15 years ago as a Clinical Vascular Physiologist with the HSE.
She then completed a diploma IP Law with the law society and gained work experience with an IP firm.
Furthering her clinical commercial acumen by completing a MSc with Smurfit and moved to industry as a clinical support specialist within the cardiovascular space, developing her managerial responsibility and commercial acumen in sales and marketing roles with large multinationals such as Medtronic, Abbott and J&J before taking the leap to form Spiorad developing a vascular closure device with Dr Samer Arnous – Consultant Cardiologist HSE.
What inspired you to setup the company?
I saw a simpler and safer way of achieving closure of an artery over what was currently available.
What problem are you solving?
Simplifying the closure of femoral artery access.
