Holds a PhD in Chemistry from Trinity College and has obtained a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance and an MSc in Executive Leadership.

Served as Chair of the audit, risk and compliance committee of the Irish Blood Transfusion Service and is a Chartered Director.
